Homeschooling families who wish go the independent study route have a new option available to them in Ventura: Ventura Charter School of Arts and Global Education. The charter school is located in West Ventura. According to their web site:
Ventura Charter School serves additional students through a
home-based component. Our home schooling program offers flexibility for
families who prefer to have their children use their home as a base for
learning under the direction of a credentialed teacher. This program
offers access to instructional materials as well as opportunities to
participate in enrichment programs and to socialize with other students.
This
program is also an ideal choice for families who use travel and the
community at large as the primary educational environment for their
