There are two Earth Day celebrations coming up in and near Ventura that are worth making a note of.
On April 15th from 11a.m. - 4 p.m., Oak Grove School in Ojai will be hosting its
Earth Day Celebration & EarthWalk/Ride, Ojai's official Earth Day celebration. Their web site describes it as "A day of environmental
and wellness exhibits, an arts & crafts marketplace, live
entertainment, world foods, arts and action activities for
all ages, and more." Contact Robin Godfrey for more information:

Two weeks later, on April 29th from 11 a.m. - 5 p.m., the Ventura Charter School of Arts and Global Education (formerly known as the SAGE charter school) will be hosting its first annual Earth Day celebration in Ventura at Mission Park. From their web site:
In celebration of World Earth Day, this local event will be jointly
hosted by the Ventura Charter School of Arts and Global Education, VCCOOL (Ventura Climate Care Options Organized Locally) and the City of Ventura.
Admission to this community eco-event is free and will include
entertainment, children’s activities, a silent auction, refreshments,
global warming project displays and volunteer-recruitment
opportunities, “New Games” (non-competitive community-building events)
and information booths.
All funds raised will support Ventura Charter School of Arts and
Global Education, whose mission is to prepare students to be active
citizens of the 21st century and see themselves as interconnected and
interdependent members of a diverse, global community.
